J.T. Davis, M.D.

Sports Medicine | Upper Extremity: Shoulder & Elbow

Dr. J.T. Davis, M.D. was raised in Southern Illinois and is excited to have returned home to establish a state-of-the-art sports medicine clinic with cutting edge technology and resources. He feels honored to have trained at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Institute and has dreamed of bringing that level of expertise to his home region.

Dr. Davis’ area of expertise includes sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, and knee. He has particular interest in rotator cuff and AC joint problems of the shoulder, biceps/labrum/ligament problems of the shoulder, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and other ligament and meniscus injuries of the knee, and tendon/ligament problems of the elbow.

Dr. Davis believes in the importance of an informed patient and self-directed care, taking time to explain all treatment options to help offer his patients the best care. He will help diagnose the problem and guide patients through an appropriate treatment plan. The great majority of shoulder, elbow, and knee injuries improve with non-surgical management including therapy, injections, medicines, activity modification, and bracing. When surgery is indicated, Dr. Davis will utilize minimally-invasive arthroscopic techniques to allow the patient to return to sport, work, and/or life as quickly and safely as possible.
