Dr. David Constantinescu is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in primary and revision hip and knee replacement. He is dedicated to providing personalized, state-of-the-art care to help patients regain mobility and return to the activities they enjoy.
Dr. Constantinescu was a NCAA Division I tennis player at Eastern Illinois University, where he graduated summa cum laude with honors with a Bachelor of Science degree. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Miami, where he served as Chief Administrative Resident, before pursuing advanced fellowship training at the internationally renowned OrthoCarolina Hip and Knee Center. There, Dr. Constantinescu trained alongside world-class surgeons and developed expertise in direct anterior hip replacement, modern personalized knee replacement techniques, rapid recovery pathways, and complex revision arthroplasty.
An active contributor to the field of joint replacement, Dr. Constantinescu has authored more than 75 peer-reviewed publications and has received numerous honors for award-winning presentations at national orthopaedic meetings.
After dedicating more than a decade to training at leading institutions across the country, Dr. Constantinescu is excited to bring world-class joint replacement care to Southern Illinois. His mission is to provide compassionate, cutting-edge care close to home, allowing patients to receive exceptional and personalized treatment without delaying and prolonging travels to receive care.
