Southern Illinois orthopaedic clinic has a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center, which is AAAHC-accredited and specialized in all types of back and spine surgeries. This allows our patients to be scheduled for surgery and procedures as quickly as possible, avoiding delays caused by unavailability of the operating rooms, while also saving them pricey hospital charges and fees.

Speak with an orthopaedic specialist to see which type of back surgery is right for you based on your needs and where your pain is located.
Back Surgery Recovery
The length of time spent in recovery can vary depending on the type of anesthesia used, the extent of your surgery and your overall state of health. Before going home, you and your family member or friend will receive discharge instructions regarding diet, medications, and activity limitations specific to your procedure. You will be provided with information regarding possible complications and appropriate contact people. You will also be given your followup appointment with your doctor prior to discharge. Do not drive, operate machinery or drink alcoholic beverages for at least 24 hours after surgery. We also recommend that you arrange a responsible adult to be with you for 24 hours following discharge.
How Much Does Back Surgery Cost?
Every back surgery patient is different and will therefore be billed as such. The fees associated typically involve the cost of the operating room, supplies, equipment, medication and recovery room care. Some charges may be billed separately, such as anesthesia care, x-rays and lab tests.
We accept most major insurances and Medicare/Medicaid. We will file all insurance and Medicare/Medicaid forms for billing purposes for you. For filing purposes, please bring your social security number, prescription card, Medicare/Medicaid card, and insurance policy numbers along with the address of your insurance company. For more information or to see if you are covered, call your insurance provider.
All deductibles/co-payments are expected to be paid in full on the day of service. Make an online payment here.
