Rhett MacNeille, M.D. – COMING 2024

Total Joint Replacement | Orthopaedics

Dr. MacNeille will be joining the Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois in the Fall of 2024. He will be seeing patients at The Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois, conducting the majority of his surgeries at Southern Illinois Orthopedic Center (SIOC) as well as Deaconess Illinois: Heartland Regional Medical Center and SIH – Herrin Hospital, and taking call at the major regional hospitals. We will begin to schedule patients with Dr. Anderson in the Summer of 2024. Rhett MacNeille, MD, is a fellowship-trained Total Joint Replacement surgeon. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences, Summa cum Laude, from the Arizona State University before he went on to earn his Medical Doctorate degree from Penn State University Medical School in Hershey, Pennsylvania, while earning his place in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following medical school, Dr. MacNeille completed his residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California where he earned a Certification in Microsurgical Techniques. In the past year, he has completed his fellowship at the Hedley Orthopaedic Institute of the West, in Adult Reconstruction. Dr. MacNeille has contributed to many research articles, publications and presentations with several ongoing research activities below:

  Dr. MacNeille holds a medical license in the states of Illinois, California, and Arizona and looks forward to making Southern Illinois his family’s home for years to come. Outside of work, he enjoys being a husband and a father to his three children as well as watching sports, outdoor activities such as boating and hiking, playing the piano and being involved with his church. He will begin seeing patients in the Fall of 2024 and looks to begin scheduling later this Summer. For more information, please call our office at 618-997-6800.

COVID-19 Precautions

We at Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois are committed to continuing to provide the highest quality and safest orthopaedic care to the people of Southern Illinois.

In the interest of protecting our patients and employees, we have instituted the following procedures:

In following the CDC guidelines, while inside our facilities, all employees, patients, and visitors over the age of 2 will be required to wear a mask at all times when not actively eating or drinking.

With the exception of a single parent accompanying a minor or a designated caregiver accompanying an impaired adult, we will limiting the number of visitors accompanying patients to ensure safe social distancing wtihin our facilities. .

At this time, we will continue to provide full physician services in the office as well as physical and occupational therapy, imaging, pain management, and walkin clinic services for your immediate, acute orthopaedic needs.

We are working closely with our hospital partners for the continued provision of urgent and emergent orthopaedic care.
