Jeffrey M. Jones, DO is residence trained in neurosurgery. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Oklahoma before serving as a graduate student in the Department of Chemistry at the same university. He studied at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Oklahoma, before working as a rotating intern at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center and as a neurosurgical resident at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, Riverside County Regional Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente (Fontana, California), Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), Geisinger Medical System (Danville, Pennsylvania), Cooper University Hospital (Camden, New Jersey), and Abington Memorial Hospital (Abington, Pennsylvania).
Dr. Jones previously served as a physician at Concentra Health Services, a neurosurgeon at Carbondale Memorial Hospital, and as the Director of Trinity Neuroscience Institute at Carbondale Memorial Hospital. He also holds Neurological Board Certification and is experienced with a wide range of minimally invasive spine and cranial procedures. He has been a contributing author to Neurosurgical Intensive Care, and has received numerous research awards.
Dr. Jones was a gymnastics scholarship athlete at the University of Oklahoma, Southern Illinois University, and Temple University, and was a member of the University of Oklahoma National Gymnastics Championship team in 1991.

We at Orthopaedic Institute of Southern Illinois are committed to continuing to provide the highest quality and safest orthopaedic care to the people of Southern Illinois.
In the interest of protecting our patients and employees, we have instituted the following procedures:
In following the CDC guidelines, while inside our facilities, all employees, patients, and visitors over the age of 2 will be required to wear a mask at all times when not actively eating or drinking.
With the exception of a single parent accompanying a minor or a designated caregiver accompanying an impaired adult, we will limiting the number of visitors accompanying patients to ensure safe social distancing wtihin our facilities. .
At this time, we will continue to provide full physician services in the office as well as physical and occupational therapy, imaging, pain management, and walkin clinic services for your immediate, acute orthopaedic needs.
We are working closely with our hospital partners for the continued provision of urgent and emergent orthopaedic care.
